How to Export AOL to Gmail
If you are switching from America Online (AOL) to Gmail, you'll want to transfer your email messages and contacts from your AOL account to your new Gmail account. You can use a built-in tool in Gmail to retrieve your contacts and email directly from your AOL inbox to your Gmail inbox. Depending on the amount of email messages and number of contacts you have, this procedure can take several hours to complete.

Sign in to your Gmail account.

Click the gear-shaped button in the top right corner of your Gmail account.

Click the "Mail Settings" option on the drop-down menu.

Click the "Accounts and Import" tab, then the "Import Mail and Contacts" button.

Enter your AOL email address and password into the pop-up box and click "Continue."

Check the "Import Email" and "Import Contacts" options. If you want receive new emails from your AOL account to your Gmail account for the next 30 days, check the "Import new mail for next 30 days" option.

Click the "Start Import" button to move your email and contacts from your AOL account to your Gmail account.
