How to Make a Mod for "Enemy Territory"

Enemy Territory is a freeware multi-player game enjoyed by users worldwide. Originally intended to be released for sale, there were problems in development that caused it to be simply given away. With a World War II theme, the game offers excitement but there is always room for improvement so many players choose to create mods (modifications) to the game, adding to features or textures. The process for doing this in Enemy Territory is quite simple.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the Enemy Territory program folder on your C drive.

    • 2

Right-click on an "ini" file you want to modify and open it in Notepad. For example, if you see an abbreviation for a weapon with parentheses behind it giving the amount of ammunition, such as "(20)," you can increase the number to give the weapon far more firepower.

Right-click on any image file you want to edit and open it in Microsoft Paint. Use the paint tools to change the file. Or you can go to "Edit" in the Paint menu and choose "Paste From" to paste an entirely new image over the old one. Select "File" and click "Save" to replace the original file with the new one.

Look for any audio files you would like to replace. In this case, you only need to replace each one with an identically named file of your choosing.
