How to Make a Washable Hair Pomade
Pomades get rid of frizz and makes hair soft and shiny. Women and men with curly hair often use hair pomades to keep hair manageable in humid climates. Essential oils mixed in with the pomade keep hair smelling fresh and fragrant. Make your own hair pomade and limit the number of chemicals and dyes that go in the pomade. Homemade pomades are washable, though you may need to shampoo to fully wash the pomade out of your hair. Pomades can be stored and used for two to three months. Does this Spark an idea?

Tips & Warnings
While you can use other essential oils, such as citrus or eucalyptus, lavender oil is soothing to the scalp and has antibacterial properties.
Spread the pomade onto several fingers before rubbing it into your hair so it doesn't clump together.
Pomades can make hair oily so you may want to use it sparingly if you have problems with oily hair.
