How to Scan With the HP Photosmart C4280

The HP Photosmart C4280 provides your home or office with the tools needed to print, scan and copy documents right from your desk. Once you have installed the software and drivers for the C4280 you can immediately begin using it to create digital copies of old pictures, news clippings or other physical documents. Although the printer comes with additional software, you can use the native tools in Windows to control the scanning features of the device.

      Connect the USB cable from the HP Photosmart C4280 into the USB port on your computer.

      Lift the scanner cover and place the image face down in the lower right corner of the scanner glass.

      Click "Start" and click "All Programs." Click the "Windows Fax and Scan" option in the list of programs.

      Click "File" in the interface that appears and point the cursor to the "New" entry. Click "Scan" in the sub-menu that opens.

      Click the "Scan" button in the dialog that appears to scan the image to your computer. The image will immediately open once the scan is complete.
