How to Weld Banners Made of Steel
Steel banners are a commonly used, sturdy and affordable means of outdoor advertisement. Making the frame for a steel banner calls upon the same skills and safety regulations as those required to weld sheet metal, with stick metal arc welding procedures. To make a steel banner for outdoor advertisement, you must secure the steel from a hardware supply store or a steel mill, and you must be adept at using simple welding technique. Your banner will be up and running in no time.

1
Wear all safety gear, including your welding goggles, thick protective clothing and gloves.
-
2
Place two steel tubes, as long as you wish the banner to be high (generally, this is about 7 feet) at least 2 feet from each other. Use a yardstick to make sure that your tubes are perfectly parallel to each other.
-
-
3
Place your three steel tubes, 2 feet in length each, on top of the two steel tubes from Step 2. Each of these three steel tubes should be perpendicular to the two steel tubes in Step 2.
-
4
Ignite your stick metal arc welding tool, and use it to weld each of the 2-foot-long steel tubes to the 7-foot-long steel tubes.
-
5
Place your 7-foot-long tubes on top of your 4-foot-long tubes, so that you form right angles. These 4-foot-long tubes will be the base support of your banner frame. Weld the 7-foot-long tubes to your 4-foot-long tubes.
-
6
Use twine or zip ties to secure your banner to your banner frame.
