How to Mod Ships for FS2Open
"FreeSpace 2" is a space simulation game for the PC that was released in 1999. The source code FreeSpace 2 Open (FS2Open) allows users to add their own mods to the "FreeSpace 2" game in order to create a whole new gaming experience. FS2Open has a large number of different mods available. Some mods change the whole game while others simply allow users to add more ships to the game or customize existing ships.

Download the ship mods you want to install on FS2Open (see Resources).

Create a new folder from the "File" menu. Select "Folder," and name the folder the same name as the ship mod.

Drag and drop the ship mod download into the folder you just named.

Place the mod folder into the "FreeSpace 2" folder. Launch the game.

Select the "Mod" tab, and click on the folder with the ship mod in it to launch the mod.
