How to Extend a Job Offer to a Candidate
Offering a job to an eligible candidate requires you to have a handle on the remuneration and job details pertinent to the position for which you are hiring. Some candidates will be extremely excited and accept the job right away, while others will take the time to come up with a counter offer, which could be during the job offer conversation or at a later time. Either way, you need to set your limits on how much your company is willing to pay.
Instructions

1
Phone the job candidate, identify yourself and ask if she is available to talk for a few minutes.
-
2
Thank her for coming to the interview and explain to her what you think she has to offer that is compatible with the position.
-
-
3
Offer the job to the candidate. Explain the remuneration package, including salary and benefits, your company offers.
-
4
Anticipate that the candidate will want to take some time to decide whether to accept. Tell her you understand and determine a time frame for when you expect a response.
-
5
Decide if you can increase your initial offer and what the maximum your willing to offer is while you wait for the response. Come to terms over the remuneration when the candidate phones back.
-
6
Congratulate her if she accepts and then thank her for joining your team and tell her you are excited about the addition. Tell her the first day of employment and let her know whether she needs to bring anything. Say you regret her decision if she does not accept.
