How to Redo Text in Windows Mail

The "Undo" and "Redo" functions are available in numerous Windows applications, including Windows Live Mail. Although the shortcut buttons don't appear on the main Windows Live Mail window, they appear in the window when you compose an email message. If you remove text from your email message by pressing "Undo" and regret your action, you can reinsert the text by pressing the "Redo" button.

      Open Windows Live Mail and create a new message or reply to a message you received. The Compose window opens with various shortcut icons displayed at the top of the window, including the "Redo" icon.

      Compose the email message you want to send. As you write your message, you may insert text and then decide you want to remove it. Press the "Undo" icon at the top of the Compose window to remove the inserted text.

      Press the "Redo" icon at the top of the Compose window to reinsert the text you removed with the "Undo" icon.

Tips & Warnings

  • Press "Ctrl" and "Z" to undo an action or "Ctrl" and "Y" to redo an action.
