How to Connect From a RO Pure Tank to an Icemaker
An RO Pure tank uses reverse osmosis in a filtration system to supply clean water. The equipment is typically used in areas with hard water, especially households served by a well, to prevent odd tastes and heavy minerals, which can build up in appliances and cause clogging. Hooking up the tank to an ice maker requires a T-pipe to connect the ice maker's existing line to the cold-water blue tube from the RO Pure tank. Materials are available at plumbing stores. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Shut off a freestanding ice maker and unplug the power cord. If the ice maker is built into a refrigerator freezer, unplug the refrigerator.
-
2
Close the valve on the blue pipe of the RO Pure tank. This is the cold-water line.
-
-
3
Disconnect the coupler on the end of the blue pipe from the household line, such as the cold water pipe below a kitchen sink. Twist the coupler counterclockwise with an adjustable wrench.
-
4
Wrap the threads on the T-pipe and the household pipe with plumber's tape.
-
5
Connect the blue pipe from the RO Pure tank to the long end of the T-valve and tighten with the wrench.
-
6
Attach the coupler on the household pipe to one of the short couplers on the T-pipe and tighten.
-
7
Wrap the threading on the remaining T-pipe connection and attach the end of the water line from the ice maker to the T-pipe. Twist the coupler on the end of the water line clockwise around the threaded T-pipe.
-
8
Unscrew the water valve knob on the RO Pure tank's blue pipe.
-
9
Plug in the ice maker power cord and switch on the appliance.
