How to Do Direct TV on Demand
DirecTV calls its on-demand programming DirecTV Cinema, and while you can see these listings in your guide, you can only order them with your remote after connecting your HD receiver to the Internet. DirecTV Cinema includes hundreds of movies that have recently shown in the movie theaters but are not yet out on DVD, television shows and live events. If you have an HD DVR, you can watch DirecTV's on-demand programming for a small fee.

Connect your HD DVR receiver to your router with an Ethernet cable.

Turn on your DirectTV and television. Press the "Menu" button on your remote, choose "Parental, FAV'S & Setup." Click "Network" and then select "Connect Now." Click "Continue" after the connection establishes.

Click the "Guide" button to view your DirecTV guide. Scroll to the "Cinema" or "PPV" channels, which are generally between channels 120 and 200 or 1000 and 1100. Press "Select" on a title you wish to watch.
