How to Finish the Tile Edge in a Shower With No Bullnose
The outer edges of the tile surround of the shower are often done in bullnose tile, which is finished along the edges so it sits flush to the wall. If your shower is not tiled in this fashion, you don't have to just accept unfinished edges of tile. A backup plan is to caulk along the edges of those tiles where they meet the wall, which will provide a clean line and cover up tile edges. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Wipe down the exposed edges of the tile with a sponge and a little bleach. Let it air-dry completely.
-
2
Load the caulk tube into the caulk gun. Cut off the front tip of the tube with a razor knife at an angle of no more than 45 degrees, making a hole about 1/4 inch wide. Push a long nail into the hole to break the seal and release the caulk into the tip. (Note: You will be able to see the caulk rise in the tip of the tube as you squeeze the trigger.)

3
Compress the trigger of the caulk gun until the caulk reaches the tip. Press the tip against one end of the exposed edge of the tile so the hole at the end of the tip spans the line between the tile edge and the wall.
-
4
Continue squeezing the trigger while pulling the caulk gun backward along the tile edge, laying a smooth, straight line of caulk. Keep the gun moving slowly and evenly so the line is consistent.
-
5
Release the trigger when you get to the end of the tile edge and pull the gun away from the surface. Press the release latch at the back end of the gun to stop the caulk flow.
-
6
Dampen the sponge, wring it well and run it gently along the fresh caulk to make it flat and smooth. The caulk should completely cover the exposed edge of the tiles and create a smooth transition to the surrounding wall.
-
7
Wipe off any caulk that gets on the tile surface. Let the caulk set for 24 hours.
