Instructions

    • 1

Unplug any connected telephone cords and unscrew the faceplate covering the wiring for your telephone line. Then, remove the wires attached to the jack on the back of the faceplate from their casings by loosening the screws that secure them.

    • 2

Take the two wires that carry your DSL Internet signals and separate them from the others. If you do not know which wires carry your DSL, contact your provider and ask a technician.

    • 3

Place the wires through the "IDC" punchdown blocks, then move them through the "Line Out" blocks and into the "Line In" blocks. Use your punchdown tool to punch and trim the wires in the "Line Out" and "Line In" punchdown blocks.

    • 4

Take the two wires from the "Line In" punchdown block and the three wires from the wall, and place them back into the wall faceplate for your phone line. Secure the faceplate back onto the wall and reconnect your phone to the newly filtered jack. Use an unfiltered line or the unfiltered line provided by your noise filter (if your filter provides one) to connect your DSL modem to the Internet.
