Content on iTunes has a one-time fee associated with it, which must be paid prior to beginning your download. An Apple ID is required to make purchases in iTunes, and iTunes must have a personal credit card number or PayPal email address on file for you. Once your Apple ID is created and you are logged in to iTunes, buying a song or video in iTunes takes just a few clicks.

Instructions

      Open iTunes on your computer and click the "Store" tab at the top of the screen. Choose "Create Account" from the drop-down menu.

      Agree to the iTunes terms and conditions when prompted, and click "Continue." Fill out the basic information for your account, such as your email address, which will be used as your Apple ID. Click "Continue" to move on to the payment method page.

      Supply either a credit card number or PayPal account on the payment method page and and click "Continue."

      Check your email account for a confirmation email from Apple. Click the "Verify Now" link located in the email to be directed to a screen where you must enter your email address and password and click "Verify Address." Your Apple ID is now created.

      Go back to iTunes and click on the "iTunes Store" link in the left column of the screen. Use the search engine in the top right corner of the screen to locate a particular song, album or piece of video.

      Click on the "Buy Now" icon next to a song or video to purchase it. Re-enter your password, if prompted.
