How to Add a Tag Cloud to Tumblr

Tag clouds are a great way to highlight the focus of your Tumblr blog and lead your readers to older content. The Tumblr third-party app directory includes two different Web applications that can be used to add a tag cloud to your Tumblr blog. Both services analyze your Tumblr tag and word usage to build cloud of words that indicate relative tag popularity through font sizes. Once generated, you can easily add the tag cloud to your Tumblr side blog through the Tumblr theme customization interface.

      Navigate to tumblr.com/docs/en/apps, then click "Tumblr Tag Cloud Generator" in the "Site Widgets and Browser Plug-ins" section.

      Copy the HTML code in the Tumblr Cloud text box.

      Navigate to tumblr.com, and sign in to your account. If you have multiple Tumblr blogs, click the blog on which you want to add the tag cloud.

      Click "Customize Appearance."

      Click "Info," and paste the HTML code in the "Description" text box.

      Click "Save + Close."

      Click "Generate a Cloud."

      Sign in to your Tumblr account, then click "Allow." If you have multiple Tumblr blogs, select the blog for which you want to generate a Tumblr cloud, then click "Done."

      Configure the Tumblr cloud options, and click "Generate My Cloud." The Tumblr cloud will be automatically added to your Tumblr blog.
