1
Apply 100 percent silicone gel or cream to the area that is scarred. If you can manage to apply the cream when the wound is healing, you can cut down on the amount of scar tissue that will form.
-
2
Leave the topical cream or gel on the scar overnight. It will help retain the moisture around the scar, which ultimately helps the scar go down in size. It will also help any redness fade.

-
3
Apply the cream or gel every night for sixty to ninety days to achieve the best results. Healing a scar takes a lot of time, patience and diligence.
-
4
Drink lots of water. The water will flush the toxins out of your system and promote quick skin growth and healing.
-
5
Consider discussing plastic surgery with a professional if the scarring does not heal. Gel or cream that is 100 percent silicone is used after laser skin surgery to promote the healing of scars.
