How to Make a Tribal Headband
Children are fascinated by different tribal cultures around the globe. Make the information even more interesting by helping them construct a topical craft. For a lesson on Native American tribal customs, make a headband using materials readily available at any art supply or crafts store. Students can wear their tribal headbands while learning about the culture. This creates a learning environment that is more exciting and interactive than simply listening to a lecture.

Squeeze a pea-sized drop of hot glue in the middle top of the plastic headband. Quickly place the quill end of a colorful feather in the glue so the feather sticks straight up from the headband. Hold the feather in place for a minute to allow the hot glue to cool.

Repeat Step 3, placing feathers next to each other until you have glued feathers on the entire plastic headband.

5
Squeeze a drop of hot glue onto the quill of the first feather. Quickly press a decorative bead onto the glue drop. Allow the glue to cool for a minute. Repeat this process, gluing a decorative bead onto each feather quill. You can continue adding beads until you and your students are satisfied with the look of the headband.
