Instructions

  1. Candy Buffet

    • 1

Place multiple sizes of glass jars and vases on a table. Make sure all containers have been washed and dried.

    • 2

Purchase multiple types of candy related to the party's theme or color scheme. For example, for a baby shower, purchase mini candy pacifiers, blue or pink lollipops, wax bottles and wrapped chocolates shaped like baby items. If you're throwing a traditional Christmas party, purchase candy in shades of red and green.

    • 3

Fill each jar or vase with a different type of candy. Add a serving spoon or scoop to each container.

    • 4

Place treat bags or small containers on the table for guests to use to hold the candy.

    • 5

Allow guests to place their choice of candy into specified containers as they leave the party.

    Candy Bar Bouquets

    • 6

Purchase multiple types and sizes of candy bars, including mini and fun-size bars.

    • 7

Tape or hot glue wooden craft sticks to the back of each candy bar.

    • 8

Place a medium-sized Styrofoam ball in a plastic cup or coffee mug.

    • 9

Stick the ends of the wooden craft sticks in the Styrofoam to create the candy bar bouquet.

    • 10

Wrap the cup in cellophane so that it sticks over the top of the cup to cover any exposed wooden craft sticks and Styrofoam. Tie the cellophane with a ribbon.

    • 11

Make enough candy bar bouquets for each guest to take one home.

    Homemade Chocolates

    • 12

Fill a saucepan halfway with hot water and heat it until it begins to boil.

    • 13

Remove the saucepan from the heat and place a glass or metal bowl containing unmelted chocolate or candy melts on top of the pan.

    • 14

Stir the chocolate until it is completely melted.

    • 15

Pour the melted chocolate into a candy mold. Choose a mold to match your party's theme, such as seashells for a beach wedding or teddy bears for a baby shower.

    • 16

Place the mold in the freezer until the chocolate has set.

    • 17

Remove handmade chocolates from the mold. Wrap chocolates in clear or patterned cellophane and tie with a ribbon.

Tips & Warnings

  • Omit the wooden craft sticks and replace the candy bars with lollipops in the candy bar bouquet to create a lollipop bouquet.

  • Cover the wooden craft sticks with green floral tape to make them less noticeable and look more like flower stems.
