1
Wash and condition hair using products formulated for curly hair. Allow a silicone-based conditioner to remain on hair for a maximum of five minutes to help tame frizz. Rinse hair with cool water. Blot gently with a towel, but do not dry hair completely.
-
2
Work a curl-enhancing foam or gel into damp hair. Use a wide-tooth comb to distribute the product evenly from roots to tips. By coating your damp strands with the gel or foam you'll give the curls shape without creating frizz.

Attach a diffuser to the end of the dryer. Using medium heat and a low fan speed, place the diffuser underneath a 4- to 6-inch section of hair. Lift and cup the small sections of the hair with your hands while blowing hair dry.
-
4
Place small sections of the hair directly on the diffuser, once hair is 40 percent dry, to make your hair extremely curly without disrupting your natural curl pattern.
-
5
Continue drying hair with the diffuser until hair is dry to the touch. To create lift without disturbing curls, flip hair upside down. Place the diffuser's prongs into the scalp and blow dry hair on medium heat. Once your hair is completely dry, blast hair with a cool shot of air to set curls.

Rub a dime-sized amount of shine pomade between both palms. Apply to hair using your fingertips from the roots to the ends of the hair. The pomade is the last essential step to prevent additional frizz in humid weather and get rid of flyaway strands.
