DIY Heart Canvas
If you want to make customized art that incorporates hearts, use canvas scraps you have around your house -- such as a drop cloth -- or a blank, stretched canvas to create wall art in minutes. You can arrange several heart canvases on a wall in a vertical or horizontal row to create a stylish and romantic look for your bedroom or living area.

1
Place a blank, stretched canvas on a flat workspace. You can purchase one or several of these framed canvases at you local craft store.
-
2
Squeeze acrylic craft paints onto a paper plate and dip a sponge brush into one color. Paint the entire canvas with the background color. Set aside to dry for about an hour.

-
3
Spread a drop cloth across your workspace. Draw a free-form heart with a permanent marker. Cut out the canvas heart.
-
4
Paint the canvas heart with a different hue of acrylic paint. Allow the heart to dry and then hot glue it onto the stretched canvas.
-
5
Add design or texture to the painted heart canvas. For example, use a paintbrush to add stripes or polka dots to the heart or to the background of the painting. Hot glue buttons on the heart to create a whimsical, vintage look. Be creative. Once the painting is dry, hang it on a wall in your home.
