How to Embed Disabled YouTube Videos

      Log in to YouTube and select the "Videos" button that appears when you click your username in the top, right corner. Click "Video Disabled" beneath the video that was disabled to see YouTube's explanation for why it was disabled.

      Open the original video file in a video editor. Windows Movie Maker is a free one that comes factory-installed on all versions of Windows. Remove any content that is copyrighted or otherwise violates YouTube's terms as per the reasons it listed for disabling the video. Save the video to your computer.

      Select the "Upload" button next to your YouTube username, then click the yellow "Upload Video" button and browse your hard drive for the new video file. Click "Open," then the title. Describe and tag your video while it uploads. Click "Save Changes."

      Open your video once the upload completes. Click the "Share" button below the video and click the "Copy" button next to the embed code, then paste the code into any website where you want to embed the video.

Tips & Warnings

  • It isn't possible to reinstate a video that has been disabled within someone else's account, unless you own and have access to the original video and can upload it.

  • Don't re-upload a video that was removed for violating YouTube's terms of service without altering it to meet the site's terms of service. Doing so constitutes a secondary violation and may cause you to lose YouTube privileges altogether.
