How to Link an LG VX8575 to Facebook

LG Facebook alerts include new private messages and friend requests.

When you link your LG VX8575 mobile phone with Facebook, you can receive alerts directly to the phone from your friends. When a friend posts on your Wall or comments on your pictures or posts, a text alert is sent to the phone. By linking your account to your phone, you also give friends an easy way to keep up with your contact information. Your LG phone number is displayed on your profile for your friends. The Facebook service is free on the phone.

Instructions

1. Access your Facebook account in a Web browser on your computer. Click "Account" in the upper-right menu, and then click "Account Settings."

2. Click "Mobile," and then click "Add a Phone."

3. Click "United States" in the "Country" drop-down menu, and then click your mobile service provider in the "Mobile Carrier" drop-down menu. Click "Next." Leave the browser open.

4. Touch "Menu" on your LG VX8575, and then touch "Messaging."

5. Touch "New Message," and then touch "TXT Message." Touch "New #" and enter "32665" in the indicated field. Touch "Done."

6. Touch the message field and enter "F." Touch "Done," and then touch "Send." A message from Facebook with a confirmation code will be sent to your LG phone.

7. Open the text message containing the confirmation code from Facebook.

8. Enter the confirmation code in the indicated field on Facebook in your Web browser. Click "Next." A confirmation message is sent to your phone to indicate your LG phone and Facebook are linked.
