Use a lighter hair conditioner. Some conditioners add extra weight to your hair, which makes it harder to tease and volumize. Apply the light conditioner just to the ends of your hair to prevent split ends and make the hair appear healthier.

Apply volumizer to your hair. Volumizer, as the name suggests, adds volume to your hair to make it appear fuller and more lustrous. To apply the volumizer, separate your hair into small sections using your fingers or a comb. Spray just the roots of each section with the volumizer and move on to the next section. When you have finished applying the volumizer, gently massage and squeeze your hair to bring out the volume.

Blow dry damp or wet hair immediately after a shower. Run a round brush through your hair as you blow dry it. Clip your hair into several smaller sections after and use a straight iron to straighten your hair section by section. Start the iron in the middle of each section and run the iron out and away from you as you make your way to the ends of the hair. Straightening your hair in this manner lifts the hair from the scalp and make it appear fuller.

Tips & Warnings

  • To Give your hair extra body, wrap your damp hair up in a bun and secure it with chopsticks. Remove the sticks when your hair is dry and your hair will have extra body and bounce to it.

  • Try drying your hair upside down. Bend over at the waist so that your head is upside down and dry your hair using a blow dryer. Doing this gives better access to the underside of your hair and helps dry it more quickly.
