How to Make a Black & White Happy Birthday Card
Birthday cards come in a variety of different styles, designs and colors. Some people prefer to give store-bought cards, while others add their own personal touch with a homemade greeting card. Open Microsoft Word or Publisher software program on a computer. Both programs allow users to create a variety of customized greeting cards for birthdays and other important celebrations.

Experiment with different designs. Try black lettering in different shades, fonts and sizes against the white background.

Add a little pizazz to your card with a black border. You can try different widths and shadings or choose a border that incorporates art. For example, Microsoft Word's border gallery contains black borders with cats, bats, stars, party streamers, hearts and teddy bears. Print the card.

Use a stencil to trace different shapes or letters on the inside and outside of the card. You can also add hearts, flowers, bubbles and other designs to the card.
