How to Trim Firefox 3.6 on Minimize
You can trim the amount of random access memory (RAM) Mozilla Firefox 3.6 uses when minimized. About:Config is an internal feature in Firefox that consists of a comprehensive list of boolean, string and integer values that correspond to specific settings in the browser. You can turn on config.trim_on_minimize from About:Config. When Firefox is minimized, config.trim_on_minimize moves the program's data from the RAM to the hard drive. This setting prevents Firefox from eating up RAM when the program isn't in use.
