How to Sell Lollipops
Selling lollipops can be a highly effective means of raising money for a school or community organization. They do not require a large monetary investment, and they can be sold at twice the cost of the individual purchase price, yielding up to 50 percent profit per box. Lollipops can be sold year-round, to individuals across a broad range of demographics. To sell lollipops effectively, you will need to create a selling strategy and consistently track your sales at various locations.

1
Brainstorm with your sales team to make a list of all the places you may be able to sell lollipops. Team sporting events, grocery store entryways, parents' places of work and church meetings are some common places that are likely to produce buyers.
-
2
Order a small quantity of lollipops from a fundraising company. Distribute the lollipops by the box to each seller, recording how many boxes each takes. Record each seller's contact information. Ask your sellers to keep a record of how many lollipops they sell at each location. Schedule a meeting in one week to go over sales data.

Analyze the data at your sales meeting, to see which locations are most effective for lollipop resale. Ask the sellers how many boxes they think they can sell by a set deadline, based on each of the seller's sales to date. Order more stock and distribute to sellers, again recording how many boxes each seller takes.

Call the group together at the end of the deadline to collect money and all unsold stock. Keep these lollipops for your next fundraiser, or extend your sales deadline and redistribute lollipops to those willing to continue selling.
-
5
Ask local store owners if they are willing to display and sell lollipops for your cause. If so, record each store owner's contact information, and the number of boxes they take to sell. Stop in at the various stores each week to collect money, record sales, and replenish stock.

Tips & Warnings
You often get a better price on fundraising lollipops if you buy them in large quantities. Consider buying lollipops in bulk to save money, and sell them over the course of several different fundraising efforts.
Do not force sellers to pay you for any unsold stock or they are likely to take fewer boxes to sell. Only make people pay for lollipops that they have accidentally damaged, or eaten themselves.
