How to Troubleshoot the Hotpoint HSS25IF
The Hotpoint HSS25IF refrigerator, which is manufactured by the GE Corporation, has water and ice filtration system, electronic temperature controls, shelves and bins for storage and a quiet motor. The refrigerator is sold in many appliance stores, department stores or online and comes with a limited warranty. This warranty may be necessary if major repair issues arise, but less serious problems are commonly easy to resolve with troubleshooting. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker if the Hotpoint refrigerator loses power or is not working. Plug in the power cord and move the temperature control past "0" to turn the unit on.
-
2
Adjust the rollers if the refrigerator is uneven or vibrating excessively and make sure the floor is stable enough to hold the weight of the refrigerator. The refrigerator may need to be moved if the floor bends, flexes or is otherwise unstable.

-
3
Examine items inside to see if the door won't shut completely and the motor is operating for a long period of time. Close the door firmly and keep it shut as much as possible. Use a damp cloth to clean the gasket and then dry well with a towel.
-
4
Set the temperature one step colder or warmer if the refrigerator is too warm or too cold and make sure the door can shut fully.
-
5
Set the ice maker to "I" if there is no ice and let 24 hours pass before expecting a batch of ice. Remove some of the ice if the bin is full, triggering the automatic ice maker sensor that turns it off. Turn off the ice maker and take out cubes if the green light is blinking. Remove jammed cubes with a plastic utensil.
-
6
Break up frozen clumps in the ice maker with fingertips if the ice maker is on but not dispensing ice. Turn the freezer controls to a lower setting and shut the door firmly.
-
7
Cover food items if the refrigerator, freezer or ice cubes smell bad. Remove ice cubes from the bin and clean with soapy water. Clean out the appliance with baking soda and water.
-
8
Replace the water filter cartridge if the water tastes bad or the ice is hollow. Straighten the water hose and flush out the water system by dispensing water for a few minutes.
