How to Install Python GTK
Install the Python GTK, along with all Python development tools, to the Ubuntu operating system using the Synaptic Package Manager package installer. Python is an interpreted, object-oriented, interactive program language that is used for many Unix/Linux applications. The Python GTK is the development environment utilized by coders to create applications and GUIs in Python. The Python GTK is installed on Unix or Linux-based systems, such as Ubuntu.

Click the "System" option on the top taskbar in the Ubuntu desktop.

Click "Administration" and then click the "Synaptic Package Manager" option. A password prompt appears. Type your Ubuntu password and then click "OK." The package manager opens.

Type "Python GTK" into the "Search" input box and click the "Search" icon. All Python packages appear in the Search results.

Right-click on the "Python-gtk2-dev" entry and click "Mark for Installation."

Right-click on the "Python-gtk2-dbg" entry and click "Mark for Installation."

Right-click on any other python development package to install, such as "Python-gtk2-tutorial" or other libraries. Click "Mark for Installation" for each desired application.

Click the "Apply" button on the top navigation bar in the package manager. A window of additional libraries and dependencies appears. These programs will be installed along with the selected development packages. Click "Continue."
