How Do I Take Off the Layouts on Facebook?

Facebook has more than 750 million active users as of August, 2011.

The standard Facebook profile is a white background with blue borders. However, it's possible to change your profile's background by installing a Facebook app. Facebook apps are programs written by third-party developers. These unofficial apps can be installed on your profile, creating a myriad of possibilities for backgrounds from favorite pop stars to floral displays. If you want to delete the background from your profile, delete the app that created it.

Instructions

1. Log in to Facebook.

2. Click "Account" at the top right and then click "Account Settings."

3. Click "Application Settings" in the left column.

4. Click the app you want to remove. Look for an app with "layout" or "background" in the name.

5. Click "Remove app."

Tips & Warnings

• If you have several layout or background applications listed, you may want to remove them all.
