How to Install OCS R2 on VMware
VMware Workstation is a virtualization application that enables you to install multiple operating systems on a single machine. The only limitation to the number of operating systems that you can run a single machine is memory; each virtual machine requires a certain amount of memory to run properly. VMware supports the installation of Office Communications Server (OCS R2).

- Licensed or trial version of Workstation 7.1
- Licensed or trial version of Windows Server 2008 64-Bit
- Licensed or trial version of Office Communications Server R2

Download and Install VMware Workstation 7.1. Follow the instructions of the installation wizard to install the application.

Open VMware Workstation from the "Start" menu. Alternatively, you can type "vmware" in the search box and then select "VMware Workstation" to open the program.

Select "File," "New" and then "Virtual Machine."

Select "Typical" installation and then click "Next."

Accept the default on the hardware compatibility page and then click "Next."

Click the "Installer disc image file (ISO):" radio button and then click "Browse." Locate your ISO image for Windows Server 2008 64-Bit. Click "Next."

Select "Microsoft Windows" as the guest OS and "Windows Server 2008 x64" as the version.

Type a "Virtual Machine Name" in the text box and accept the default location. Click "Next."

Accept the "1" defaults for the processor configuration. Click "Next."

Move the slider up or down to increase or decrease the memory allocation for the virtual machine. Click "Next" to continue.

Accept the default for "Network Type" and then click "Next."

Accept the remaining defaults by clicking "Next" and then click "Finish" The virtual machine will install Windows Server 2008 64-Bit.

Use the virtual machine to download and install a license or trial copy of OCS R2.
