How to Expand a Friendship Bracelet
Friendship bracelets are colorful and customizable and make great gifts. Friends, however, are as diverse and unique as friendship bracelets; each friend has a different size wrist. You might miscalculate your friend's wrist size when creating or purchasing a friendship bracelet. Luckily, you can correct the miscalculation by expanding the bracelet to fit any size wrist.
Instructions

1
Untie the end of your bracelet. If you are in the process of creating the bracelet and have simply run out of thread, skip this step.
-
2
Choose embroidery thread that closely matches the colors of your bracelet. The easiest way to do this is to take the bracelet with you to a craft or fabric store when you buy your thread.
-
-
3
Cut a length of embroidery thread in each color you need and match them with the corresponding threads of your bracelet.
-
4
Tie the existing threads and the new lengths of thread together using a basic double knot.
-
5
Add a dab of clear nail polish to each knot and let it dry. Turn the bracelet over, add a second dab of nail polish to the knots and allow it to dry.
-
6
Trim the excess threads away from the knots.
-
7
Weave the extended threads of the bracelet using the original bracelet pattern. When you achieve the desired length, tie the threads together and cut away all but about 1 inch of the excess.

Tips & Warnings
Find patterns for friendship bracelets online or in books and magazins available at craft or fabric stores.
If you do not have a pattern for your bracelet or do not feel comfortable weaving the expansion, expand the bracelet by alternating simple knots and beads. The bracelet won't be as uniform, but beads can add a personal touch to your friendship bracelet.
