How to Give Your Blog Your Own Header on Blogger
Design your own custom headers to give your Blogger blog a distinctive look and feel. You'll need photo-editing software installed on your computer to create an illustration or photo reflecting your blog's personality or message. No knowledge of HTML or CSS coding is needed to create a custom header for your Blogger blog -- a simple click of a button puts your new header into place.

Log in to Blogger and choose a template by clicking the "Design" link and then the "Template Designer" link. The dimensions of your header will depend upon the template you selected.

Create an illustration or edit a photo in any photo-editing program such as Microsoft Paint, Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. You can use a JPG, GIF or PNG image file for your header.

Click the "Page Elements" link to navigate to the "Add and Arrange Page Elements" page.

Select the "Edit" link from the box labeled "Header" and wait for the pop-up window to open. Check the pop-up blocker on your Web browser if this window does not appear.

Upload the header image you created. Click "Choose File," select the desired header options from the check boxes and then click "Save."

Preview your blog by clicking the "View Blog" link near the tabs. Click "Save" to save your work and update your Blogger blog if you are satisfied with your new header.

Tips & Warnings
The "Shrink to Fit" option on the header window reduces a large header so that it fits into the template space. This eliminates the need to resize your header if you later decide to change templates.
