How to Trick Out Your iPod

How to Trick Out Your iPod thumbnail
Rhinestones add sass and style to your iPod.

iPods are awesome when it comes to allowing you to listen to music wherever you want, but their appearance is simplistic and modern. Removable face plates and skins are available for purchase in stores and online, but you can trick out an iPod yourself using inexpensive supplies while still getting a dramatic and attractive change. Flatback rhinestones are a great embellishment for your iPod, and if applied correctly, will last a long time -- if not permanently.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean the iPod of all natural oils and grime with a cotton ball that has been dampened with rubbing alcohol.

    • 2

Apply a dot of craft glue to the tip of a cotton swab and dab it on the iPod where you wish to place a rhinestone.

    • 3

Pick up a rhinestone using a pair of tweezers. Carefully place the rhinestone on top of the glue and press down using the tweezers.

    • 4

Repeat the technique to apply rhinestones wherever you wish on the iPod. You can choose to cover the entire face plate with them, outline the screen with them, or place them sporadically around the iPod.

    • 5

Allow the glue to dry for 30 minutes before using the iPod.

Tips & Warnings

  • Prior to the project, lay out the rhinestones face up in a single layer on the table so they are easy to grab.
