How to Join Bookcase Tops
Composite wood bookcases come a dime a dozen with modern manufacturing. However, for those with an extensive library, a single composite shelf may not be sufficient. Instead of investing in larger custom shelves, consider joining your existing bookcase tops together to form a secured row of shelves. Does this Spark an idea?

Position the straight brackets at the top of each bookshelf, and mark where the screw holes are positioned.

Remove the brackets, and drill pilot holes directly into the wood. Be careful to not drill completely through the shelf top.

Place the brackets into position, and screw them into place using 1-inch wood screws.
