How to Make a Cardboard Batman Suit
Dress up as the iconic character of Batman for Halloween or your next costume party. Many commercial Batman suits are available. However, you can recycle an old box, save money and exercise your creativity by making your own Batman suit out of cardboard. You can make a cardboard Batman suit almost entirely from items that are readily available in most homes.

Instructions

1
Use a ruler to measure the length and width of your upper arm, lower arm and abdomen. Make a note of these measurements.
-
2
Use the measurements to draw out shapes on the cardboard. Draw two shapes that match the measurements of your upper arm, two that match your lower arm, and one that matches the dimensions of your abdomen.
-
-
3
Color the shapes in with a dark colored marker to create the pieces of your cardboard Batman suit. Use a combination of black and dark blue.
-
4
Cut the shapes out of the cardboard using a razor cutting device that is inside a holder for safety.
-
5
Place a yellow Batman symbol sticker in the center of the piece of cardboard that you wear over your chest.
-
6
Cut a rubber band in half and staple one end to each side of a piece of cardboard designed for wear on your arm. Repeat on all four pieces of the suit intended for your arms. To wear the costume, slip your arm through the rubber band, which will hold the piece in place in front of your limb.
-
7
Staple one end of a shoelace to the back of the piece of cardboard designed for your abdomen. Ask a friend to pull the shoelace taught and staple the other end in place on the other side while you hold the piece tightly up to your chest.
-
8
Put on a pair of dark tights, black gloves and a skin-tight, long-sleeved shirt in a dark color. Wear black sports shoes that blend in without inhibiting your range of motion.
-
9
Draw a line across your face beneath your eyes using dark blue face paint. Fill in the rest of the space above this line with face paint to mimic Batman's mask. Do not paint your eyelids so that you do not get paint in your eyes.

Tips & Warnings
Wear a dark blue or black fabric cape to give your Batman costume added authenticity.
Use a lighter shade of marker to sketch the shape of pecks and abdominal muscles on the piece of cardboard that you will be wearing on your abdomen.
