How to Get a Close Shave on the Chin
Not only does a close shave leave you looking and feeling fresh and clean, but it also has additional health benefits. Unwanted germs and odors from spilled food can accumulate in uncut facial hair, leading to infection and illness. Shaving is a good way to remove body hair because it is relatively quick, easy and requires little specialized equipment. The contours of the face may provide a challenge, but you can achieve the closeness you desire by using a good quality razor and following a few techniques. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Take a hot shower before shaving. This helps to soften facial hair and will make the process of shaving easier.
-
2
Fill a sink with hot water and allow your shaving brush to soak in it for a few minutes.
-
-
3
Wet your face with hot water to ensure it is thoroughly wet before shaving.
-
4
Apply a small amount of shaving cream to your face using the shaving brush. Move the brush in small, circular movements until a thin lather appears. Build up the lather until it is thick by brushing in strong, up and down movements.
-
5
Shave the exposed areas of your face, such as the cheeks, but leave the chin area until last. This will allow the shaving foam and water to further soften the hairs.
-
6
Hold the clean razor firmly in your hand and shave your chin in movements that run roughly from north to south. Start at the edge of your lips, on the left, then move toward the center. Repeat this north-to-south shaving movement, working from the right side to the center.
-
7
Rinse off the lather and reapply a layer over your chin area.
-
8
Hold the clean razor firmly in your hand and shave your chin in diagonal movements that run roughly from the edge of your lips toward the center of your chin. Start on the left, then move toward the center. Repeat this process, working from the right side to the center.
-
9
Rinse off the lather and reapply another layer over your chin area.
-
10
Shave your chin in movements that run roughly from the bottom of your chin toward your lip line, against the grain. Start on the left side, then move toward the center. Repeat this process, working from the right side to the center.
-
11
Rinse your face with hot water and dry it.
