How to Fix Unresponsive Mac Keys
If you are experiencing unresponsive keys on your Mac computer, you may have the Mouse Keys function accidentally turned on. The feature is often enabled by pressing the Option key five consecutive times. When this feature is enabled, you are unable to use the number and letter keys on the keyboard. Turn off the Mouse Keys feature to fix unresponsive Mac keys.

Click the "Apple" icon located in the upper-left corner of the desktop.

Click "System Preferences" from the drop-down menu.

Click the "Universal Access Preference" pane.

Click the "Mouse & Trackpad" tab.
