How to Make a Zigzag Macrame Bracelet
You can make a zigzag macramé bracelet with a series of forward and backward macrame knots. The zigzag design is popular for friendship bracelets that feature colorful strands of macramé cording. In addition to the zigzag bracelets, the pattern can be used for anklets that will complement flip-flops and a bathing suit on the beach. A pony bead, found at crafts stores with the macramé cording, is used for the adjustable bracelet clasp.

1
Gather the ends of each of the cords in the clip section of the clipboard, 5 inches from the ends, to secure the cords in place.
-
2
Separate two strands on the left side of the grouped strands. Create an "L" shape with the left cord over the right cord. Bring the left cord under the right cord and pull. Repeat to make one forward knot. Make forward knots with the remaining strands of cord.
-
-
3
Make backward knots with the strands of cord by reversing the "L" shape and moving from right to left.
-
4
Repeat all steps to make rows of forward and backward knots, which create the zigzag design, until the bracelet fits comfortably around your wrist. Cut the ends of the cords to 5 inches long with the scissors.
-
5
Thread the cord ends at one end of the bracelet through the pony bead. Thread the cord ends at the opposite end of the bracelet through the pony bead in the opposite direction.
-
6
Form a circle with each set of cord ends, insert the ends through the circle to create overhand knots at the ends of the cords to complete the bracelet.
