How to Make Italian Favors
Add a hint of Italy to your wedding by creating your own Italian favors for each guest. Cometa flower favors with Jordan almonds are ideal for decorating a table setting. The main components of this favor are Jordan almonds and Cometa confetti ribbon, a traditional Italian organza ribbon. Placing five Jordan almonds in each favor signifies five wishes for the newlyweds: health, wealth, fertility, happiness, and longevity. Begin gathering the components for the favors well in advance because you might need to special order supplies from an Italian goods store.

1
Purchase Jordan almonds at a local candy store or Italian goods store. Each Italian favor will use five almonds.
-
2
Contact your local craft and fabric stores to see if Cometa confetti ribbon is available. You need Cometa confetti ribbon because it contains pockets for the Jordan almonds. Order the ribbon online if necessary.
-
-
3
Lay one ribbon containing 10 pockets on a table or counter. Insert a Jordan almond into every other pocket of the ribbon. The pockets of the ribbon are the flower petals.
-
4
Pull the drawstring of the ribbon, cinching the pockets together. Secure the drawstring with a knot. The ribbon now has a flower shape.
-
5
Take three miniature fabric roses and twist the wires together to create a small bouquet. Thread the wires through the middle of the flower. Secure the bouquet to the center of the favor with hot glue. Flip the favor and cut off the floral wires from the roses.
-
6
Tie a piece of fabric ribbon into a bow. The ribbon can match or contrast the Cometa confetti ribbon. Glue the bow to the center of the backside of the favor.
-
7
Embellish both sides of the favor by gluing small rhinestones to the center of the flower.
-
8
Make enough flower favors for each guest to take home.
