How to Get Black Spiked Mace in Castle Crashers

If you want your knight to have a high magic bonus and a chance for critical hits, the Black Morning Star (also known as the Black Spiked Mace) is one of the best weapons in Castle Crashers. Finding a Black Morning Star isn't easy. This weapon is a chance drop, meaning that there is only a chance that it will appear in the game. If you are lucky enough to receive a Black Morning Star, you must be level twenty to equip it.

Instructions

1. Travel to Lava World. This level appears about halfway through the game, so if you haven't seen it yet, you'll get there eventually. Lava World is one of the toughest levels in the game, so it is best that you spend some time leveling up.

2. Kill all the Fire Demons. Fire Demons are the chief enemy you will fight in Lava World, so you'll find them everywhere. Remember that the Black Morning Star is a chance drop, so show no mercy when it comes to these pesky enemies. Every Fire Demon you take down is another chance at the Morning Star.

3. Collect all the bags that the Fire Demons drop. There is no guarantee that a bag will carry the Black Morning Star; it is possible to get through the entire level without seeing it at all. If this is the case, start the level over. This will not negatively affect your progress in the game, as any level in Castle Crashers can be repeated.

Tips & Warnings

• Completing the game with the Orange Knight will unlock the Fire Demon playable character. This character comes equipped with a Black Morning Star. Unlocking this character means that you will have access to this weapon for all future playthroughs.
