How to Delete CFW on PS3

Custom Firmware, or CFW, is not sanctioned by Sony and is actively blacklisted from the PlayStation network. If you have installed a modified set of firmware, you'll need to restore it to official firmware. Once this process has been completed, you'll be unable to return to a custom firmware again.

Instructions

    • 1

Power on your PlayStation 3 if it is not already turned on.

    • 2

Select "Settings" from the far-left of the menu screen using your left control key.

    • 3

Select "System Update"; then press the "X" button.

    • 4

Review the license agreement; then pres "X" if you agree to it. Your software will automatically update, and any CFW will be automatically removed
