1
Draw a line from one side of a 2-foot-radius circle-shaped board to the other. It does not matter where or how close to the center the line is drawn. Use the compass to draw a line perpendicular to the first line at the center. This will produce a 90-degree angle. Erase the first line after the second is finished.
-
2
Measure the second line and mark the middle. Draw a line perpendicular to this line at the middle mark. The circle board will now have four sections. These sections are the shelves of your bookcase.

3
Cut the shelves out with a table saw following the lines drawn on the board.
-
4
Place the shelves on the worktable standing on one flat edge with the curves facing the same direction. Set the planks on the worktable. Place one plank above the first shelf, lying flat on the table, the next plank standing on edge connecting the first shelf and the second shelf on the upright flat edges. Place the third plank connecting the second shelf with the third on the down edges. The fourth plank will connect the third and fourth shelf on the upright edges. The fifth plank will connect to only the last shelf on the down edge. Mark the joints with a pencil to note which shelf connects to which plank.

5
Drill 1/4-inch holes 1-inch deep at three points on spaces where the are marked on each of the four triangular shelves with a 1/4-inch boring bit. The three points are one inch from each end and one in the center.
-
6
Drill three 1/4-inch holes 1-inch deep into the marked edges of two of the 12-inch planks. The three holes are one inch from each end and one in the center.
-
7
Drip three drops of wood glue into each hole. Insert a 1/4-inch dowel into the three holes in the shelf and attach the appropriate planks to each shelf with the dowels starting from the top.
-
8
Align two L-brackets on the outside of the joints at four inches in from each side as each shelf is made. Screw the L-brackets into the joints with screws and a drill. Allow the glue to set for 24 hours.
-
9
Attach the shelf to the corner at the height chosen by drilling a 2-inch wood screw into the stud in the wall through each plank.
