How to Adjust Leading in PageMaker
Leading is an old typographical term from the early days of hand-operated printing presses that refers to the lead strips used by typesetters to increase the space between lines of print. The term is still used in page layout software such as PageMaker 7.0. Fortunately, with PageMaker 7.0 you do not have to use strips of lead to change the leading for a publishing project. To change the line-spacing in PageMaker, all you need to do is select the correct option from the menu and adjust the number setting.

Tips & Warnings
Leading is not uniform for all font types and sizes. For example, a leading of 1.5 with a 12pt Sans Serif font will look different than it will with a 12pt Monotype font.
Leaving too little space between lines of text will make your document illegible.
