Everyone knows whether they're right- or left-handed, but few know whether they're right- or left- eyed. Follow this simple procedure to find out which eye to aim your bow with.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Make a triangle with both of your hands by overlapping your thumbs and the top half of your fingers.
Step2
Extend your arms toward your target.
Step3
Look through the triangle at the target.
Step4
Keep your hand-triangle small enough so that only one eye can look through it up close.
Step5
Keep both eyes open.
Step6
Move your hands back to your face, still looking at the target through your hands. Whichever eye your hands gravitate toward is your dominant eye.
Step7
Double check by holding the triangle at arms distance again and closing your non-dominant eye. The target should remain centered in the opening.

Tips & Warnings

  • Right-eye dominant people should usually shoot right-handed, and vice versa.

on 3/8/2006 There are three basic ways to determine eye dominance.
1) Is as listed above; with your two hands.
2) Take your hand and hold out your index finger and focus it on something with both eyes. Then close one eye at a time and whichever eye is still lined up with the object while the other one is closed is your dominant eye.
3) Take a toilet paper roll and hold it out in front of you so that both eyes are focused on an object through the center of the tube. Then slowly pull it back to your face keeping the object in your view. Whichever eye it comes to is your dominant eye.
