on 2/7/2006 Use large (at least 1 inch) puff balls or pom-poms found at craft stores. I find them three for a dollar, and both my cats love them. And they are silent!

on 11/22/2005 Balls with little bells can be very annoying at 3am with a kitten who never stops playing! I've found that regular ping pong balls are the best cat toys - they bounce and skitter across floors great plus they're about $2 for 6 of them (and they come in all sorts of colors now). Toss one or two in the bathtub and you'll keep a restless kitten occupied for hours!
