Things You'll Need:
- Cat Beds
- Cat Condo
- Cat Hammocks
-
Step 1
Investigate the different sizes and shapes of cat beds available.
-
Step 2
Measure the length of the space your cat fills when she's curled up to sleep, then add about 1 foot more to come up with a good size for the bed.
-
Step 3
Pay attention to fabric - try to choose something soft and comfortable. Fleece is a popular, cozy choice.
-
Step 4
Check out the different types of fillings that are available. For instance, some pillows and beds have foam inside, while others are stuffed with cedar filling to keep insects away.
-
Step 5
Consider a rounded bed stuffed with poly-fill lining if you want it to mold to your cat's shape for added comfort.
-
Step 6
Select a bed with a cover that comes off if you want to be able to wash it easily.
-
Step 7
Check out a heated pillow or bed for your cat if you want to keep her extra warm during the winter. These have a heating element contained inside to regulate the temperature automatically.
-
Step 8
Look for wooden or steel cat bed frames that have fleece or other soft linings if you want a bed with more structure. You may also consider a cat condo.
-
Step 9
Understand that the price of pillows and beds varies greatly, depending on which type you choose. For example, be prepared to spend about $20 to $30 for a standard variety, or about $50 to $60 for a heated pillow or bed.

on 12/22/2005 There are pads sold under the name of "Cat Magnet Pads." The name is very appropriate, cats love laying on them! If there is a cat around, it will be laying on this pad. They're also cheap enough to be considered disposable. They'll get ratty and collect shedding fur, and I just toss it and put down a fresh one. It really saves me from cleaning off the couch or chairs!

on 11/22/2005 There is a product called a cap napper, that attaches to your window (much like the cat hammock) and lets you cat see outside while they nap. In my opinion it is a superior product to the cat hammock. My cats love it, they have worn out 3 in 7 years.

on 11/22/2005 Try to get an elevated bed, or put the bed in an elevated spot. Cats prefer some altitude when they're sleeping.
