Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 c. white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1 c. vegetable oil
  • 5 chicken breasts
  • 10 chicken drumsticks
  • 10 chicken thighs
  • 10 chicken wings
  • 3 1/2 c. maple barbecue sauce - see related eHow
  • Barbecue Grills
  • Drip Pans
  • Grill Utensils
  • Wire Grill Brushes
  • Groceries
  1. Step 1

    In a bowl, whisk together vinegar and salt.

  2. Step 2

    Add oil by pouring it in a stream; whisk the marinade until it is emulsified.

  3. Step 3

    Divide chicken pieces between 2 large bowls.

  4. Step 4

    Pour marinade over chicken.

  5. Step 5

    Marinate chicken overnight in the refrigerator.

  6. Step 6

    Prepare a medium-hot fire in a charcoal grill, or heat a gas grill to medium-hot.

  7. Step 7

    Grill chicken on an oiled rack set about 4 inches over glowing coals for 10 minutes on each side, or until it is cooked through.

  8. Step 8

    Baste chicken with maple barbecue sauce, and allow to cook 2 more minutes.

  9. Step 9

    Turn chicken, baste again and cook 1-2 more minutes.

  10. Step 10

    Serve chicken with remaining barbecue sauce.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't baste the chicken with barbecue sauce until it's almost cooked; the sugar in the sauce makes it burn easily.

on 11/22/2005 Start the chicken in your oven. Cook it until it's halfway done, or more. Finish on a hot grill. This allows for crispy skin, and chicken that is fully, safely cooked
