You've received the invitation, you know what you'll wear, now you just need to find the perfect gift. Check the couple's registry first, or select a more personal or unusual gift.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Send the personal touch. Have satin-covered down pillows monogrammed or engrave a pair of crystal champagne flutes with their names and the wedding date.
Step2
Plant the thought of a long and prosperous marriage with a tree or flowering rose if the couple is buying a new home.
Step3
Send the bride and groom on a hot-air balloon ride or a sunset cruise. A set of golf or tennis lessons is a fun wedding gift. Nontraditional gifts are especially appropriate for second marriages when all the household necessities are covered.
Step4
Give the bride a gift certificate for an afternoon of spa luxury. If money's no object, include her bridesmaids or maid of honor.
Step5
Make a gift of cash. It is common practice in some cultures for guests to give the bride or groom an envelope with money in it.

What to Look For:

  • Registry items
  • Unique, memorable or personal gift
  • Cash or charitable contribution

Tips & Warnings

  • Check that any bridal registry list is up-to-date before you buy. Consider selecting an item from a category that's near completion to give the bride and groom the satisfaction of getting a full set rather than bits and pieces.
