Select Stocking Stuffers for a Gardener

Stuffing a stocking for a gardener is easy - garden tools are good, as well as anything flowery.

From Quick Guide: Guide to Stocking Stuffers
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Rain Gauges
  • Peat Pots
  • Lip Balm
  • Hand Pruning Shears
  • Biodegradable Twine
  • Metal Plant Address Labels
  • Flowers
  • Rubber Boots For Gardening
  • Herbal Teas Packets
  • Garden-themed Ornaments
  • Nail Brushes
  • chocolates
  • Garden- Or Flower-themed Jewelry
  • Soil Or Compost Thermometers
  • Floral Or Herbal Essential Oils
  • Gardening Gloves
  • Flower Bulbs
  • Soothing Soap
  • Christmas Stockings
  1. Step 1

Start with some useful gear: a small hand tool, a new pair of gloves or a pair of hand pruning shears.

  2. Step 2

Remember other helpful trinkets such as metal plant labels, a packet of superabsorbent crystal polymers for pots and other containers, a rain gauge, a roll of biodegradable twine, a soil or compost thermometer, bulbs for forcing, small peat pots or clay "water worms" that indicate when containers need water.

  3. Step 3

Indulge your gardener: Tuck in floral- or herb-scented essential oils, soothing soaps, a nail brush to deal with grungy garden hands, lip balm with sun protection, garden-themed ornaments, garden- or flower-themed jewelry, herbal tea packets or foil-wrapped chocolates with botanical motifs.

  4. Step 4

Top off the stocking with a few stems of brightly colored fresh or dried flowers or a spray or two of berries.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be creative when thinking "stocking" - it can be fun to jazz things up a bit by hanging a large garden glove or small burlap bag on the mantel instead. Or buy your favorite gardener a pair of garden clogs and fill them to overflowing with little garden-themed trinkets.
