Make reprints of your favorite photos to send as Christmas cards. You can take your picture to your favorite film shop and have it made into cards, or you can make your own. To make your own envelopes, read "Make Envelopes," under Related eHows.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Scrap Lace
  • Scrap Ribbon
  • Blank Cards
  • Coloring Books
  • Aleene's Tacky Glue
  • Glitter
  • Photographs
  • Scrap Fabrics
  • Cutting Mats
  • Holiday Cookie Cutters
  • Scissors
  • Card Stock
  • Colored Card Stock
  • Construction Paper
  • X-Acto Knives

Step1
Purchase 5-by-7-inch blank cards or 10-by-14-inch sheets of card stock, medium-weight watercolor paper, or construction paper to use as your card base.
Step2
Fold card paper lengthwise so it measures 5 by 14 inches. Now you can cut it in half to make two 5-by-7-inch cards.
Step3
Purchase envelopes to fit, or make your own.
Step4
Trace a holiday shape onto the front of each card. Use cookie cutters, coloring book pictures, or any design you wish.
Step5
Cut a smaller shape, such as a circle or a star, in the middle of the larger shape. This is where the picture will show through. Use a sharp craft knife and cutting mat to cut the center design.
Step6
Decorate the front of your card. To make, for example, a big Santa face, glue your picture in place of Santa's face; glue cotton balls around the face, and add a red felt hat.
Step7
Use photo corners to hold your picture in place. Place the photo and corners on the inside, with the picture facing through the cutout design.

Tips & Warnings

  • Put glitter on the front of the card, cut out star shapes, and place a different family member's photo in each star.
  • Let your imagination run wild!
  • X-Acto knives are very sharp; use them carefully.
