    Paper Cutouts

  1. Step 1

Purchase 5 by 7-inch card blanks or 10 by 14-inch sheets of card stock, medium-weight watercolor paper, or construction paper to use as your card base.

  2. Step 2

Purchase envelopes to fit, or make your own.

  3. Step 3

Fold card paper lengthwise so it measures 5 by 14 inches, and cut in half to make two 5 by 7-inch cards.

  4. Step 4

Place pattern or large cookie cutter on card front. One side of cookie cutter should slightly hang over the folded edge of card.

  5. Step 5

    Trace shape onto card.

  6. Step 6

Cut around shape - except where it touches the fold line.

  7. Step 7

    Decorate card.

  8. Wood Cutouts

  9. Step 1

Purchase or make wooden cutouts from thin craft wood.

  10. Step 2

Paint and decorate one side of wooden cutout.

  11. Step 3

Wood burn or write your message on the other side with a permanent marker.

  12. Step 4

Glue a piece of ribbon to top of cutout to hang, or drill a small hole in cutout and tie ribbon.
